The 40-year-old One Hundred Oaks Mall in Nashville has undergone a major transformation to become a significant mixed-use development with the major tenant being Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Approximately 40,000 sq. ft. of Dri-Design panels helped to modernize the look. The .080 aluminum panels were finished in Dove Gray.
The Dri-Design Wall Panel System is an affordable dry joint, pressure-equalized rainscreen system.
The exterior façade of the 880,000 sq. ft. mall was originally brick, precast and EIFS. The renovation plan required knocking out exterior walls and creating framed openings for windows.
Installation of the Dri-Design panels was done by JWC Specialties, Nashville. The design originally called for ACM to clad the structure. “We had recently finished another Dri-Design job and suggested using it on One Hundred Oaks as a cost saving idea,” said Mike Johnson, project manager and owner of JWC. “It really looks good.”
Architectural design for the project was provided by Gresham Smith & Partners, Nashville.
