Williston Basin International Airport

Williston, N.D., has a history deeply rooted in the railroad and agriculture industries. Now a surge of oil-related jobs in the area is bringing about a population boom. Williston Basin International Airport was built in 2019 to meet current and future needs of the region. The terminal building was designed to be people-orientated while being reflective of the Williston Basin. Dri-Design Wall Panels were chosen for the interior and exterior to create a cohesive and welcoming design.

“We were asked to create a modern terminal building design that is rooted in the Williston Basin sense of place, with a focus on providing hospitality-oriented design and amenities for the traveling public,” says Stefan Balaz, AIA, LEED AP, associate with Alliiance, the architectural firm in Minneapolis.

MG McGrath, Maplewood, Minn., installed 6,333 square feet of Dri-Design Wall Panels in both Champagne painted and clear anodized finishes with narrow slot windows interspersed throughout.
